FREQUENCY STORYTELLER

MANU PAVEZ

Artist — Pergamino, Argentina · b. 2001

He has played in Rosario, Buenos Aires, Chacabuco, Junín, Pergamino, Villa Gesell and Pinamar.

The origin

Pergamino, August 2001. Under a small-town sky, a kid starts imagining lights and faders before he even knows what they're called. He moves from rap to trap, and there he learns the one thing you never forget: how to measure the pulse of a phrase, how to tell something through rhythm. Those weren't detours. They were his first compass.

The click

Then comes the turning point: what sounded like noise to many was possibility to him. The post-Skrillex energy shows him that a timbre can speak, and that music can break chains. That sense of wonder sticks to his skin. He still feels it every time something clicks in a studio session.

The lab

At 19 he opens Ableton and his room becomes a lab. Endless loops, kicks searching for their place, basslines as precise as breathing and melodies that tiptoe in. He realizes his job isn't to mix: it's to tell. He develops his own grammar for speaking to the crowd through the sound system. He calls it frequency storytelling.

Today

His tracks are released on respected progressive house labels: Sound Avenue, Mango Alley, Droid9 South America, 3rd Avenue, Coral Tide, Traful. He's been supported by Sahar Z, Graziano Raffa, Ezequiel Arias, John Cosani, Hernán Cattáneo, Nick Warren and Mariano Mellino, and has shared the booth with Roy Rosenfeld, Alex O'Rion and Soundexile.

Every set is a journey: from an elegant warm-up to a hypnotic peak time, never overdone, with tension that keeps building. The mission is the same as on day one: leave a mark, first at home, then around the world. Because once music finds its voice, geography becomes just a starting point.
